A Statement from the River District Team

Today, the Ernest N. Morial Exhibition Hall Authority Board of Commissioners held their regularly planned monthly meeting. A resolution to finalize updated terms of the Master Developer Agreement was originally presented on the agenda. Upon review, RDNI asked that the resolution be withdrawn to correct and finalize the document as part of the normal operations of business. We echo the comments of CEO Jim Cook that we remain committed to ensuring a
partnership that will serve both parties and the city of New Orleans. While development projects across the country face unprecedented economic obstacles, we have stayed the course. Alongside our partners at the Convention Center, we are dedicated to a plan that will bring forth affordable and workforce housing and establish a hub of business and entertainment that will return this long-fallow land back to commerce. In addition to Shell Riverside, the first Class A office building in New Orleans since 1989, we remain
committed to plans for the construction of multi-family residential apartments in 2026 and we maintain our support for the Louisiana Music & Heritage Experience’s development within the River District. Louis Lauricella, Managing Partner of Lauricella Land Company and Co-Managing Member of the River District consortium
